When we set out to
design our
popular and well-reviewed Cobalt 3” exhaust system, the goal
was simple: create an ultra-performance system that outflowed anything else available. It also had to have
the most pleasing tone, quiet enough for real street use.
It had to be deep and throaty, not at all 'tinny' or 'raspy'.
In order for us to
provide such huge flow with optimal noise
characteristics, we had to rise to the occasion.
The result of that development is a super- effective
combination of resonator and main muffler design
specifically created for this car. We've created a super-mellow tone without the excessive noise
sometimes associated with lesser 3” exhaust "systems" that use off-the-shelf "universal" mufflers and no real design
development.
We now had what we needed to support
our SC-to-turbo conversions, as well as our complete
TurboSystems for the non-SC cars, some of which were
already developing over 500 HP. It's been a
popular alternative for high HP Street Cobalts ever
since!
An attractive and classy 4.5” tip is augmented by
full system polishing. High-quality hardware and stainless
band-style clamps are included.
Not to be
confused with cheap, poor-quality imports that can drive you
crazy with excessive noise and short life, this is an
American-built system that uses only premium materials.
Extensive sound testing has made this the most popular 3"
system available for Cobalt!
